Today's cultural events are a continuation of the 1000-year-old history of Millstatt. The International "Music Weeks" from May through October feature artists from the worlds of music, language, theatre and fine arts.
The "Bummelmarkt" street market with live music, together with the famous Millstatt "Kaiserfest" incl. a giant fireworks display along the lake, are amongst the season's highlights. At the "Kaiserfest", you can even take part in the celebrations dressed up in historic costume (for a small rental fee). The comedies performed at the nearby Porcia Castle in Spittal/Drau, "Summer Operetta Days" in Klagenfurt, open-air concerts, Millstatt's "Domitian-Fest", the Wine Harvest and Riflery festivals, guarantee that there is always something new to enjoy. And it's nice that Millstatt's popular meeting spots are all within easy walking distance for the younger crowd.
